vr ss auto tune problem

Post by v8-tuning »

Hi i recently did a tune for a vr ss auto
tune looked good everything seemed to line up
and had correct numbers etc.
i used the $11B_V103.xdf is this correct?
it starts but is in limp mode, cel on and fan on.
also for vats removed you tick the box yes?
same with vs?

just looking now at the tune
if i click on engine program id-$11=vr -AA bypass checksum
it has 83 units would that be the issue ?
i read on here that someone changed it to 170 and it fixed the checksum issuse
170 wont work but i can type in AA will that work?
just need to confirm.

That's correct.
Change 83 to AA to disable the checksum.
AA is the same as 170 , just depends if the xdf is displaying hex or numeric values.
83 is the program id for a be V8 auto in hex, so set it to AS. :-)

vr manual and vs v8 manual checksums should be calculatable with a good xdf, thus the checksum updated by tunerpro should be correct and they should work without needing to disable the checksum.

Using AA as the program ID is a standard GM thing to disable the checksum and works for all VN-VY (excluding LS1) ECUs. Some aftermarket bins remove this feature to try and stop editing.
