i quick question can a VR/S be run off a VN loom ?

I assume you are talking v6? the VR v6 is a plug in job, its the same motor essentially as the vn, just a few small updates. theres not much to gain by changing to a VN ecu as the VR ecu is essentially the same. tho you will need to find a VR tune to run it on as the VR has more compression and requires less timing.
the VS ecotec can be done, but you need to change the coolant sensor and knock sensor for the earlier units, and install the manifold temp sensor. from memory everything else is plug in. except some wires need lengthening to readh the throttle body. then you will need a custom tune to suit ecotec motor on VN ecu. (which a few of us on here have done before)
