Rt vt gas tune

Post by Jervies »

Currently im a realtime board and a vt bin and im looking to flash on the gas bin.
Now the questions i have are
How do i go about doing this and keeping it realtime as there is no realtime gas bin?
Could i use the vx bin with the gas mixtures controlled by the ecu?
Im putting in a new motor witg shaved heads and a small cam, where should i start on with changes to suit this setup?
The vehicle is a van with a vt computer and bcm simulator (i have a thread on here)
Cheers guys

As you have an NVRAM setup running a RT bin you can flash in any non-RT cal that matches the code type. So if you have CXWB (flashtool will ID it as VT A5G) can flash in the A5G LPG cal CXWJ. All you need to do is open a standard CXWJ bin in TunerPro, open the A5G XDF and edit the program ID from A5 to AA so RT changes can work without a check engine light. Save it and either use the flashtool to write the cal (if you select a bin it only writes the cal portion) or upload the bin using the plugin in TunerPro.

unfortunately there is no automatic way to do it, but once you have the base LPG cal in there you can load your old file with all the changes as a compare bin and use the difference tool in tunerpro. A lot of the LPG stuff is not defined in the XDF, so if you tick the "limit search to defined items only" box in the difference tool it will (mostly) show you the items that you have adjusted. you can then copy and paste the contents of those tables in from a second instance of tunerpro.

Won't happen with your setup as PCM needs to now how fuel is in the tank which the instruments send out over ALDL.
I think if it's less than 6 litres it won't switch over. I'm not sure if it's a full switch or if it just adds a bit of petrol to help cool the valves.

Is there any way to trick the computer in to thinking it does have petrol?
