been a while .....

so this car went to Gunnedah drags, went really well once it came on boost, which was 10 meters past the start line plus it was still missing a bit like it did on the dyno, so we got LS1 coils and VL400 ignition module..... this is the first test with that stuff installed :)

put a new set of slicks on and then we have two cars ready for Gunnedah in june!

so far its best of 7.81 over the 1/8 ... hoping to get a low 7 out of it if we can get everything working properly.

Nice project holden202t did the std coil packs start misfiring? And then u changed to ls1 coils? Ive made pretty good pwr on 98 and boost with std coil packs but about to change the combo to e85

yeah originally the combo was stock v6 with turbo and we went up to about 13-14psi with that, it then over boosted and cracked a few pistons, at that point it went to forged pistons, boost cam, ported heads, 10:1 comp and methanol fuel system.

It was dynoing it in this configuration we saw the missing, wasn't major just little misses every now and then, that plus we lacked a 2 step rev limiter so the decision was made to put the LS1 coils and VL400's ignition on to fix both issues.

I've had a lot of coils work fine with petrol but not be able to cope with methanol, understandable, your putting 2.3 times as much in there with more compression, its a tall order for stock coils, and realistically they performed pretty well! on the track you can barely hear it miss or feel it in the car, but it is still there so obviously letting the combo down to some degree.
