Errors once conected to vehicle, Tuner pro dashboard

Post by vp304 »

Hey guys long time reader dont really post much on here as my 12p modified 808 has been running like a dream for over a year :)
Quick rundown on my car
holden efi v8 standard motor converted to straight gas with gas research throttlebody. 808 pritty much just does timing, controls iac and a few other little things.

Now i got the size of my gas throttle body made a few mm bigger. I adjusted the fuel mixtures with my wideband and while trying to set the iac steps and idle to as close as i can to 750rpm with my laptop hooked up and my modded 808 computer with 12p i could not get it to monitor (ie watch the dashboard in realtime) Without it connecting then getting a heap of errors and i tried resetting the laptop and reconnecting but it does exactly the same, update every say 5 sec or so and in between just a heap of errors flashing up in the box down the bottom were it says connected.

Since i last hooked it up and had it running good last year nothing has changed besides the throttlebody. Same laptop same tune, same cables etc etc

Any ideas of what it could be causing it? I wanna sort it out as also for some strange reason when you 1st start the car the idle is around 600rpm then after a min comes up to around 750. Kinda like the iac cant open anymore to help lift the idle up when cold.

Any help will be appreciated
thanks :)

you haven't changed the echo settings have you ? updated the software or something and the setting has changed ?

echo settings is the only thing i can think of other than if there is a dodgy connection or something silly like that.

I will check the echo settings Tom. I do know that in the settings device manager for that port I do have the bits per second I think dropped down and there is 2 slider bars for speed which are down low as when set on low I know it can help sometimes on connection problems.
That's all of the top of my head as I am at work at the moment and can't check it in person.

i've never had to change those settings in device manager, but thats not to say you mightn't

the other thing you can do too, load up the flashtool and see if you can download or upload the entire bin file, if it does it with no errors then theres nothing wrong with the interface and will mean its a setting in TP5.

thanks mate :)

With my idle problem can i just bump the idle up by the screw when the cars cold check the iac steps and go from there? or will thats screw it up also when its warm if it cant drop the idle down to 750rpm

Would also recommend trying the Flashtool with a get bin command and see if it works ok, might help narrow down the issue.

might need to play with some of the iac settings for the idle issue. First check the steps when hot, you want about 20 or so at idle in neutral, can adjust the stop screw to get that. Then play with the temp related settings if its still not right.

Thanks for the info vl400
Iac was close to 20 steps at idle on old size throttle body.
Looked like it was around 40 on new throttlebody but was 2 hard to get a decent reading cause i kept getting errors when connected.

Are you using oseplugin? If your using an ostrich, then you should not be. As your using it with moats hardware the settings might be a little different. As said above check the echo settings in the adx.

Have had this random error issue once or twice also, not been able to reproduce it and normally a reboot fixed it. This was with and without the plugin in use and flashtool worked fine with no errors.
