wiring ecu advice

Post by moot »

ok first let me start by saying i am retarted when it comes to all things electronic and electrical :D

i'm building a vs,it was a v6 5 speed,now it has a vn 304 and the vn th700 in it.

i have fitted a vs v8 auto engine harness,my main concern is what to do with the speedo and torque converter.

i have a vr v8 auto ecu and a vn v8 auto ecu to choose from.

from reading a few threads on here it seems that i should repin the connectors and use the vn computer? will the torque converter lock up work? what will the speedo do? what other issues will i have?

thanks guys

vn (808) ecu's are great if u plan to run boost ect but if its just for a standard engine you can use the vr ecu with vats removed. speedo and torque converter should be in the loom and will just work. you will have to change the cluster though i think? vt you can change v6/v8 tacho with a tech2 but no idea with the older stuff

Better off setting it up with 12p now then. Im unsure of the wiring differences if any and you will need to use the vn ecu with a larger chip with a 12p tune on it. Then for realtime tuning theres a nvram and also a usb conection board for logging/tunning
