WTB: cheap vr 424 ecu

Post by festy »

A friend-of-a-friend has recently bought a wingless sprint running a VR auto ECU and is interested in datalogging/tuning it.
The rules state an OEM ECU must be used, but memcal is free
I know nothing about these ECUs, so would like to get hold of one to play with and check out the $11 RT stuff.
Does anyone have a spare '424 ECU gathering dust?

i've had a bit to do with these things and i would suggest a vr manual ecu would be far better (or an 808) .... im not really sure how the computer reacts to not having the tranny there .....

but if you want one to play with i might have one available will have to check when im home.

Yeah if it was mine I'd swap to an 808 and $12P, but apparently it runs well enough with whatever tune came on the memcal with it.
The simplest option seems to be to RT an auto PCM rather than re-wire/re-pin the loom and try and port his current tune to 12P...

if you can get your hands on the memcal and get a copy of the tune i would love to see it, i've burnt a few tunes for v6 sprintcar guys and some of them are useless at best :)

i know theres alot to be had with a decent tune in them :)

anyways, if you want a 424 i have one here without a memcal, pm me if your interested.

I've got one.... cost about $12 to post from northside of brissy to you.
I get them from a local wrecker for beer tokens told them what i do - not using them on a vehicle ;) opening them up and modifying.
Got them interested now i can mostly get any bits i need for "Research Use" :D
