808 FAN2

Post by Jayme »

hey all, just wondering, I see everywhere in 808 tunes fan1 and fan2. I cant seem to get a straight answer about what fan2 actually does. is it a 2nd fan output on a different pin?

what I know is in the v6 tune I looked at fan1 comes on if (AC = on and car < 55kph) OR (comes on when temp > 101.75 and turns off when temp < 98.75) and it is pin C1
I also see in the tune thea fan2 (comes on when temp > 110 and turns off when temp < 104)

so can anyone shed any light on exactly what this fan2 does?

thanks
Jayme

Its used as a dual speed fan like the VS, there is a option flag to enable it. Can use it as a dual fan control so it stages dual thermos to reduce load when the fans startup. Its output is pin A3

exactly what I wanted to hear :D. I can see the option flag for it in the kal3 bin im running, this way I can put on some twin themos and make them work exactly like the VT dual stage thermos. been keen to get rid of my engine fan for a while, has a nasty vibration.

will report my success with my plan in a few weeks.

If i use a3 to trigger a thermo fan relay is it a positive feed or negative
And i assume the vr manual ecu works the same as the 808 for this and it is all in 12p ?
Had a thermo i have been tripping over for years i might install it finally

Same as the other fan, the ECM pulls low. In 12P you need to use a flex output for the control, it will cycle on and off faster than normal though as there is no hysteresis.
