real time ecu problem.

Post by tris909 »

hi there. im new to this site so i hope i have posted in the correct forum. i am currently using ose12p real time tuning with delco ecu for my vn s/c v6 which has been great for the last 2 months. tonight though whilst tuning on the dyno i lost connection with laptop and lost all my work. i tried rebooting but when turning ignition on the thermo fan starts cutting in and out when connecting to laptop. i am unable to connect to vehicle now, connection status is dropping in and out every second and when usb is plugged in the thermo fan has a mind of its own. the car will not run now , went home got original ecu plugged in to eliminate car problems and the car runs fine. if i have missed anything pleas just ask i am new to this any help would be great. thankyou. ps. sorry about grammer etc damn mobile phone is not easy to use.

Was the ECU something you have put together yourself or purchased through eBay? It sounds like the ECU is trying to run in limp mode from a corrupt bin.

Not knowing the actual hardware your using it would be best to return it to the cal engineer for him to reload the base 12P bin.

if its not a genuine dallas nvram chip (likely from ebay) then it probably has a cheap low quality battery that sounds like it might have gone flat. if this is the case, you'll need to replace the nvram chip. I recommend vl400s, he has gone to great lengths to ensure genuine automotive grade components.

it has the exact one installed. though i am unsure of the age as i have been lent the ecu. i have suspected it to have been this issue but unsure due to not knowing the battery life of these units. it has the same part number as the others shown in these forums that are being installed so i am certain it is legit. it also has delco hacking printed on boards.

that's a good sign! if the nvram has not been replaced its legit and the battery should be good :)
