uploading tune, ECU out of car

Post by Another355 »

im not sure if its even possible but ill ask.... has anyone attempted to pull or upload a tune with the ecu off the car, might apply power and earth somewhere on the pins ?

reason i ask is my motor is out along with the whole loom and i would like to try upload something new in the mean time till the motor goes back in.

also might as well ask while im here, instead of making a whole new thread... would anyone be up for writing up a startup tune or even letting me use one of theres. to be honest im s*** scared to even try to start it up on a standard tune or my dodgy attempt haha. would be a very very expensive learning curve!

i dont expect something for nothing so of course im happy to reimburse for the time spent ! if anyone wants to help i can post up every detail i can

please dont flame me for being noob ! :)

ok firstly you will probably need to provide a bit more info.

ie. what is the car, what motor, what computer, what engine mods are planned etc etc.

vn commodore 5litre stroked to 355. still EFI obviously, 10.5 : 1 comp, dual plane hi rise manifold, 4barrel throttle body, slight porting on heads, 3g stally, still undecided on cam leaning towards a wade grind 500odd thou lift at the valve. still running the delco but modified for realtime. i know the cam details are important but i thought i'd get some expression of interest first i suppose, thanks for the help so far.
