hello,
im hoping you may be able shed some light on a problem im experiencing. i have a 1965 XP falcon with a 250 xflow turbo and fuel injection. i used the wiring harness from a JE camira and wiried it all up succesfully. my tuner mate then spent 2 days on a dyno tuning where we made a respectable 412hp. that afternoon when we were loading it back on the trailer we left it idling when suddenly it just stopped, we thought hmm thats weird and thought nothing more. took it home next morning went to start it and it belches fuel smoke while cranking eventually it starts than stops. Left it in the shed for a while and forgot about it....have just completed an auto conversion on it now and the old problem has come back. after cranking it for a while, sometimes up to 10 minutes, belching fuel smoke it will start and run fine but then very lean.
While cranking my mate quickly plugged his Kalmaker laptop in and noticed the injector pulse was out to 23 miliseconds and 0 degrees timing. that explained the fuel smoke and no start. Turn key off, wait a few seconds, turn key on and all of a sudden we have timing back again and 0.2 milisecond inj pulse. Runs fine for approx 30 seconds, then switches off.
we then took my ecu out and put it in his 250 turbo t bucket, same problem. So we then unsoldered the small kalmaker board and put it in another ecu, swapped the realtime boards with his. same problem in mates car. so we have eliminated the ecu and the real time board. I was starting to think it was my car and wiring until we replicated the same problem in mates car.
have you ever had anything like this or any ideas? this is driving us nucking futs.
thanks
Greg
weird strange problem, hope you can help.

Have you tried uploading the tune back to the ECM? Kinda sounds like something is corrupted
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

have also put my mates tune on my ecu in his car and does the same thing. Fills it full of fuel with massive inj pulse and no timing. take my ecu out put his back in and its fine.
put mine back in and nothing, crankadee crankadee crankadee cough cough
were at a loss. so far we have
*soldered kalmaker circuit and swapped the eprom circuit into another ecu. thinking it was the ecu at fault. put in car and same problem.
*swapped the clip in eprom circuit from mates ecu. put in his car and same problem.

Does kalmaker show any error codes?
Can you post up a copy of the tune?
Can you log it with tunerpro 5 (https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... ?f=10&t=29 "Kalmaker_SP3_N03 TP5.zip") and post up a log of it running badly?
Running smokey with no timing sounds like its not running the tune at all and its just in limp home mode, but if thats the case the laptop wouldnt be about to connect and give you any data.

Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396
