vs v6 invisible timing retard???

Post by hot308vb »

hey guys just a quick question has anyone had any experience with ecotecs retarding timing for no reason whether it be at idle, cruising or wot?
my dual fuel vs ute & my younger brothers vs sedan seem to lose between 15 to 20 degrees between spark maps and actual spark. ive tried the std holden memcals, an ebay vs chip and also my vs enhanced nvram in both vehicles but theyre still missing timing no matter what and no knock retard detected and also no burst knock present. on my ute ive done the dodgy & added 15deg to idle and hi/low spark maps to regain crisp drivability but dont want it to suddenly correct itself and ping like crazy!!!
attached is the log & bin from my bros vs with the ebay chip. & ive used the vs v6 $51 enhanced v1.4.adx( but any other adx reads the same too)
any help is much appreciated.
cheers
Rob

when your air intake is nearly 70c id expect that to!

BTW way to much spark advance, typical ebay rubbish.

why do you reckon it would be 70ºC ? that sounds pretty hot

Maybe faulty or not mounted properly or air intake isn't right Sucking in hot air, but at that temp the Iat tables will pull that much timing
