Running a little ruff

Post by Mikestech0 »

Hi guys
Have install a VS series3 V8 in the torana with standard VR-VS comp 185kw tune with vats and speed sensor removed.
She starts and runs well, have noticed its surging a little when putting around at 60-70kms
When you put your foot down a little it goes very well and doesnt miss a beat.
Upon stopping the engine idles high for a few seconds then settles down to a semi normal idle, the engine also appears wobble abit

Any ideas?
Im assuming a check of the diag would give me some answers.
Just thought someone might have experienced a similar problem

Cheers Mike

just rereading your post, your not running a speed sensor, so hence it wont know when your coming to idle, which is causing the problems.

Hi guys
She is a 5 speed manual
The motor use to have the MAF sensor etc.... Being a VS series 3 setup which was removed. I was told its a VT roller motor.
So the standard VR-VS harness, PCM and MAP sensor with the 185kw HSV tune has been used.
VSS has been removed in software as the same for VATS as far as I know
I expect it requires tuning

Im more worried driving it the 30kms to get the tune done, regarding if its running lean... aka burning valves and or pistons.
Drove it around for over an hour the other day and she stayed at 92-95 degress with normal driving
Do you recon it would be safe to drive?
Cheers Mike
