PWM driver information

Post by Silver308 »

G'day, was after some information on the PWM driver that previously featured on here for use with flex tables, the link displayed: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=397 says is no longer availiable.
Does any one have a diagram/schematic of the driver i could get a look at?
Thanks.

Yeah no longer available as there was no interest, can probably find enough parts to assemble one though (have heaps of boards still).

There are solid state relays (SSR) available at various places but reliability of the cheap ones switching high current inductive loads (ie fuel pumps, electric water pumps) is not great. They must be heat sinked for high current loads.

Thanks for the quick response and for the info
Was looking at using for a water pump and possibly electric power steering pump due to charger taking up all the room, and also possibly fan speed control... possibilities seem endless.

So it seems due to reliability issues, builders opt for a relay, run at 100% duty on the flex table and have the pump either on flat out or off.

Just so i can get my head around this, if using a SSR's would something like this work or need something different? (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SSR-40DA-Sol ... 19c947db89),

I presume battery positive onto input positive (3) and negative side (4) to one of the ecu flex pinout? and the other two terminals for out put same as a regular relay (1) and (2) running power to the pump/motor etc. with relay in the middle.

I've used it on a davies craig electric water pump and it worked perfectly for that, not the same results on a bosch 044 pump though :P
