Hi all, newbie here, have bought a L76 from a 2006 VZ Calais, I am looking for a PCM wiring diagram to build a stand alone loom, I have an engine loom and two E38 ECM's Yes I know that for lotsa bucks i can buy a loom and plug and play but i would like to get to know the E38 a bit better, have searched long and hard including buying the "stand alone loom complete guide" and none contain info on the Aust L76 Gen IV.
Any helpwill be greatly appreciated

Thanks Jayme and Antus for the help! there ends a long and painful search for the wiring for the L76, it seems all the diagrams out there are for the US version as the colours are different, also if its advertised as a complete swap guide for LS series....it isnt! Jayme your wiring diagram is the same as my loom.Antus, i think that the diagram you posted is the US version Thanks again guys for the help!

Hi All, am currently building the stand alone loom for the L76 E38 ECM and thanks to previous posts and help are progressing,I cant seem to find the OBD port on wiring, I assume it is in J1 cable as J2 is for the engine loom. Also it seems that there are diffrent versions of the E38 ECM. I have two E38's, one came with my motor and another i bought for a backup but believe it to be blank, is there a way of confirming the suitability of the ECM from numbers as i dont want to build the loom, plug it in and brick the ECM...
Any help would be great

Sorry yeah mine was us based. I thought they were the same. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yes there are at least 3 versions of the e38 computer. Efilive have a compatability guide aimed towards their COS but it should tell you what you need to know.

What ecu numbers have you got? I have compiled a list to make it easier what ecu matches upto t/b etc

There is another thread with some info from VXL67Getrag over here which is probably currently the best reference. OSIDs though rather than service numbers: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3184

being that both ecu's are 12597121 is good they are interchangeable its just a matter of turning vats off for the conversion on the original one with the engine will do. that service number does 2006-2007-2008 and requires the silver blade throttle body, not a brass blade which is the later ones.
