$12P software to run Coolant Fans post shutdown

Post by DixiePicker »

Can $12P software, running in a 165/808 ECM, be set up to turn on or continue to run the Engine Coolant fan/fans after the Ignition is turned off?
For xxx time above xxx coolant temp? Used to cool the engine coolant/engine bay? I read through the XDF finding no option. I didn't read the OSE set up yet. Not set up and trying to find all the options before I switch.
Thanks - Billy

You could have the fan wired with a timer in line with the coil for the relay.
Say an off delay timer set to 2 minutes or so. Ive seen people do that with electric water pumps and electric fans together.

One of these from Dakota Digital might be worth a look, not utilising the PCM at all though

Can I ask why? Without an electric water pump to keep the coolant moving it seems pointless.
