Need tune help
Need tune help
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is someone who could help me out. The1 from this forum who is my usual tuner is real busy at the moment and is away. I've changed my setup slightly an added a intercooler and relocated the maf. The problem i have is now the car is hell rich, especially in WOT and i need to be able to use the car. I have data logs, if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated and i'm willing to pay via paypal or something if u can fix it up. Even if you just lean it out a bit so im not seeing 10.1 AFR at WOT till The1 is back.

Re: Need tune help
Theoretically adding an intercooler and relocating the maf should not make it hell rich.
Check your fault codes. You might have a Code 32 and its in limp mode.
Check that you have fitted the maf in the right direction.
What is your location? One of the members on this forum might be close to you.

Re: Need tune help
Im in Brisbane. Im pretty sure everything is set up correctly. I will check codes but im pretty sure they are ok too.
I think the maf and where it was located before may of been reading off due to turbulence. It's the only thing i can think of that explains it. Now due to the intercooler and longer path before the maf the air is more stable therefore giving a different reading. I could be wrong but.

Re: Need tune help
update, MAF was in correctly and no error codes.
What i did do and it made a difference was rotate the MAF and took it for drive. Almost normal now. No where near as rich, and is actually lean a little on the top of first and second.
I should be ok till The1 is back now though.

Re: Need tune help
Has the maf had the aluminium divider cutout (removed)?

Re: Need tune help
Seems odd, When fitting the MACE CAI on our VX the instructions tell you to turn the MAF 90° and it doesn't seem to make any difference to the tune.
Re: Need tune help
Yeah, it is pretty odd. If i rotate it back it's rich again. I drove arond yesterday moving it in small increments and where i have it it now must be reading better as fuel is at its leanest.
Re: Need tune help
Must be some turbulance then if you can get it reading rich/lean which means more or less air is being read, be back Saturday
Re: Need tune help
Yeah, id say so. I think iv got it in a good spot now so im not bloody touching it lol
