Anyone recognize this memcal?

Post by DanWA »

Was a bit of a middle man in hooking a mate chasing a manual 5ltr body up for another mate whom i sold a mint rust free & straight shell for next to nothing (to become saloon car spec but with V8), it has come to the wiring stage

He cracked open the ecu from the donor and come across this. Mate cannot recall who or what was done and at what stage (he has had it forever)

Any pointers besides the obvious Manual/Cam/Extractors?

ASBX is a stock vn v8 and seems like that has had changes made to the stock bin going by the sticker.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Is that a chip adapter it's on or is that a sealed unit? I've been known to strip a pile of little pieces of CAT5/CAT6 copper wire to throw a chip in my reader real quick to get a read. Yes, i'm cheap!

Thats the top view of a normal factory plug in memcal for these pcms. The IC is soldered in, if you have a burner you can make up an adapter without much trouble to do the read. The pins are all straight through, you just need to space them out a bit wider to the original chip foot print (or close too).
