VT 5.0 ADX

Post by vn5000 »

Ive just got a VT 5.0 SS AUTO for a reprogram and it is the first time ive played with a VT.
Was wondering if anyone has a adx file for tunerpro 5 or scannerpro (prefer TP5), and if not can i use V6 ADS file in the locked ALDL post. :study:

Thanks

I just tried connecting to ecu with $a5 ads with tp4 and it will not connect.
Also tried importing ads with tp5 and it does connect but with continuos errors and the data is wrong.
I noticed this ads is for a 16233396 v6 ecm and my ecm is a 16234531 v8
Can anyone shed some light on what the diff command could be and what the packet size and offset may be. :wall:

Does anyone know what command string is used to stop chatter on this VT. Have tried F4 56 08 AE but ecm seems to ignore request. It continually sends out a 13 byte string even when ignition is off .This car is really starting to shit me. :comp:

I use efilive and have logged a VT 5.0 before. with a chunk of work the definition can be manualy read and converted over to tp5.
here are the chatter commands from ite definition:
heartbeat: $08,$55,$A3
suspend: $F1,$56,$08,$B1
resume: $F1,$56,$09,$B0

Cheers for that Jayme ,this car was starting to do my head in.Ive made a tp5 adx but could not get it to constantly read the correct values , it would connect but half samples were correct values and other half were not ,as i couldnt turn the chatter off.
Looking at the commands you posted i can see why .
I understand resume and suspend chatter but not to sure on heart beat (is it a command that is needed to keep chatter suspended before it times out and resumes, and how can i write this into adx).
Thanks again for your help.

sorry, ive got no idea... havent got a vt here to test anything on...
from the help file, it sounds like the heartbeat is somehting to do with detecting chatter.

Heartbeat
Enter the heartbeat frame here.

Sometimes the heartbeat frame can be different depending on whther the ignition is on or off. In this case only enter as many bytes as are common between the different heartbeats, usually 2 bytes.

The appropriate heartbeat should be displayed during chatter analysis. (See previous section: Chatter). If the chatter analysis cannot determine an appropriate heartbeat thenyou will need to select one maually.

Hey Jayme your a legend.
I just substituted your dissable chatter string with what i was using and what do you know - she connected straight up with no errors ,you mustnt need the heart beat.
Still needs a bit of refinement but once i get it all sorted ill post it up.
Thanks again

Funny you say that .Ijust started it for first time while connected and lights on dash came on .Nearly shit myself. :silent:
But when disconnected all went out ,what a relief that was.Ithink the heart beat might be needed to speed logging up-it only runs at 6.66 samples per sec , i think this is because i have to have dissable chatter and listen for silence in monitor macro not just the connection macro.Anyway good enough for now.
Im using VS adx to locate what value is represented at each byte in the stream ,its close but not perfect, some codes appear to be set when im sure there not.Would you be able to post the definition or what value is at at each byte \ bit. Also how many bytes are in the stream ,ive set it at 60 with offset of 3 and seems ok
Thanks Jayme
