Made good progress the last couple of days and got all the paving laid. Glad that is done as my back has had enough....

Finally got the paving all finished. Just needs a good clean and the pool can be moved onto it's final place.

In one of the many power cuts we have around here my Raspberry Pi system got corrupted so today I though it was time to fix it. Just flashing a new operating system image onto the card and then we can start again there. Going to set up a little backup power supply for the Pi so hopefully this won't happen again.

Well the Raspberry Pi is back up and running and the Pi-hole is functioning again. I'm also setting up a little UPS for the Pi using a USB power bank. I'm going to be using this set up http://raspi-ups.appspot.com/en/index.jsp

I'm just testing a power bank with my mobile to see it doesn't get hot charging my phone whilst it's plugged into the mains and charging itself as well.

Cheers. It's been a lot of work for someone who's never done this shit before but it's come out ok. Learnt some shit that I'll do different/better next time around....

Finally got around to some car shit today and did the plugs on the Calais which were overdue. Plugs are well over 25k old from what I can work out, the condition isn't bad, gaps are basically still the same as when they went in with only slight wear on the edge of the electrodes and earth straps. Slight red tinge from the fuel. Some plugs are slightly dirty on one side but clean on the other so I suspect that is most likely due to how the plug is indexed in the head and probably masked on one side.

More interesting is the rust between the body and ceramic insulators (this is the worst one). The new batch have nickel coated bodies by the looks of things so the rust issue should not occur again.

And shortly it will be time to go out the back and do the prep on the new pavers for sealing....

Also, this is a set of plugs that just came out of a mates L67 that was experiencing some rough running issues.

What would the yellow contamination be? The one oil fouled plug is apparently from a cylinder with a dodgy stem seal. They were also a square seat plug instead of taper and heat range 7. Going back to a 6 heat range plug and correct taper seat style plug, hopefully it'll run a bit better.

the stain on the plugs is actually a corona stain not rust and is normal

In this case it's definitely rust, when you look down between the body and the ceramic you can see the rust flaking, it's just really hard to get a good picture of it. Some of the other plugs also have light rust around the outside of the plug body but it doesn't show up real well in the photo above, maybe just the lower plugs in the pic.

Took her out for a quick blat up the motorway. Seems nice and smooth again.
