VT SS, wont start

Post by v8slrtorana »

Hi.
Brought myself a VT SS 5ltr manual to wreck. Got it home, decided its to clean to wreck so i want to get it going as a daily driver.
So it come a key, but the keyhead is destroyed. Battery has been ripped out (checks out ok at 3v).
Re soldered the battery back in, and nothing, fob will not unlock the doors.
If i stick the key in the drivers door lock, they lock & unlock fine.
Naturally, the motor will not wind over. Dash lights up & looks normal to me.

So today i rung a locksmith mate.
He said car has to come to him, but as a test he said to the ignition to on & leave the key in the barrel for for 125mins.
Sure enough it wound over but then it stopped winding over for some unknown reason.

Next step.
I striped the memcal from the PCM, and copied the CJDP to my laptop.
I clicked VATS - Set - Disabled in TP5, saved & burned the memcal.
Now naturally the battery is flat & it didn't wind over much.

It sparked, bit didn't fire.
Have i missed a step ?
Will it run with the steps ive taken ?
It hasn't been started for 18months maybe 2 years the seller said.

Any help appreciated,
Thanks Trenton

yeah vats off should be all you need.

does the fuel pump run at all, i'd be making sure you have fuel pressure and re-charge the battery and see what happens.

Well i had no injector pulse with the factory code and vats off.

Anyway Dylan said to try The 1's enhanced code.
Set the flags as required, sure it enough it tried to fire.
Old fuel, and all the lifters have bled down = not running.
Fresh fuel and tow down the road will see it running again no doubt.

You will still have spark even if VATS is active and preventing the engine from starting, just no injector pulse.
Sounds like you have it sorted anyway
