Re: vr ecu
i don't think the VR tune will send the right information to the BCM and hense wont work too well ... probably would work with the anti theft disabled in the tune, but im not sure if it would effect other BCM operations and also you'd loose anti theft security!
hopefully someone else might have some more detailed info for ya.

Re: vr ecu
So many different bcm's it would be good to have a list like bobs site for memcals that lists the numbers and functions and models etc.

Re: vr ecu
it wont be a plug in job, youll need to cutsomise some wiring. for example - in the vs v6, the BCM controls the low speed fan, on the VR, there is no low speed fan, both are wired to trigger from pin C1 on the pcm. other than that, I think it would work well, ive just gone the other way and put a ecotec into a VR using the vr pcm and map sensor etc, works well so far, tho its not really tuned yet. you need to extend some wires to the different sensor locations, customise a adapter to use the VR CTS, and bolt in the VR Knock sensor.

Re: vr ecu
yea i saw that in the wiring diagram but if i was able to keep the bcm the vr computer might be able to trigger the high speed on the vs cause it the same color trigger wireJayme wrote:it wont be a plug in job, youll need to cutsomise some wiring. for example - in the vs v6, the BCM controls the low speed fan, on the VR, there is no low speed fan, both are wired to trigger from pin C1 on the pcm. other than that, I think it would work well, ive just gone the other way and put a ecotec into a VR using the vr pcm and map sensor etc, works well so far, tho its not really tuned yet. you need to extend some wires to the different sensor locations, customise a adapter to use the VR CTS, and bolt in the VR Knock sensor.

Re: vr ecu
yeah the VR will trigger the high speed fine, but you need to wire it up so the the VR ecu triggers both the high speed and low speed windings in the motor.

Re: vr ecu
is the vs v6 manul sequential injection like the auto? if so, since the vr isnt, you might need to look at the injector wiring too.

Re: vr ecu
its probably easier to put the vr loom on it rather than having to change all the VS stuff...
