Post by ivanovbg »

My car is Opel Astra C16SE
Can anybody help with name and value of these maps.
I want to make my car on methanol.
I want to change everything for maximum results.
I will be grateful for any information on the development of my HDF.

can't really help with finding the tables but once you have found them i'd be happy to share what i know about tuning for methanol and adjusting your tables accordingly.

Can you help to completion?
verification is also needed
I do not know also how to properly adjust the Spark advance for methanol
also do not know how to modify AFR petrol14 alcohol 6
My engine is stock 9.8 / 1 can increase the compression ratio
what is normal for methanol?

thanks in advance for their efforts!

what i did for the AFR table was to get the petrol one apply a divid by 2.3 to the whole table ...... 14.7 / 2.3 = 6.4 you should find you get 5's in the WOT areas and 6.4's in all the 14.7 areas.....

as far as spark, its hard to say, trial and error relay other than to say im running about 14 degrees more on methanol at 6000rpm than on petrol.

also my petrol tune is much retarded because my compression is 12.7:1 so i don't want it to knock!

13:1 on methanol is quite ok, maybe even more for alloy headed cars .... but it also depends alot on the cam, smaller cams usually have less compression whereas full race type cams have alot higher compression.

no you don't want to change the VE table you need to change the AFR table

When changing AFR table, then automatically you will change the amount of fuel?
VE table should change it when changing intake manifold and exhaust?
I found another table AFR-0043C 9x16?
sorry if the questions are stupid, but translated with google and do not want to lose meaning

assuming your ve table was right for petrol then yes multiplying the AFR table by 2.3 should make it pretty right for methanol.

Also you need to take into consideration for the 2.3 time more fuel .... are your injectors up to the task or do you need bigger ones ? fuel pump etc aswell.

the other thing ..... if you can, get the car warmed up on petrol then put methanol in it because i find it very hard to start on methanol when cold, but if you can get it warmed up on petrol for the first time it should start straight away on methanol.

normally to start on methanol i unplug the map sensor from the manifold and spray throttle body / carby cleaner into the inlet and this usually gets methanol started on the first go for me!
