VR V6 Memcal Bin Grabbed - How to read

Hi guys
I finally got to grab the Bin from the VR V6, i think i use tunerpro to read it. But I'm unsure how.
To read it, do i need the bin file, and an adx file also?

Your attached VR V6 Bin is based off the Holden CAKF bin or BTXN with the only difference being code 68 turned off.
You will need a XDF file to view the attached bin file. Try $11B-V106.xdf from this site.
One thing you should beware of your attached bin file is missing a block of data between 1000 to 1B0D. This happens if you have downloaded the file via ALDL mode.

I did get the BIN file with the ALDL and flash tool.
I had not long downloaded the above XDF. I already have the adx VR_$11_v105.adx.
To view, can i just view it on my laptop with out being connected to the car?
What is the CAKF or BTXN ?
I still have to peel off the memcal sticker to see what chip it is.

Is there a number on the sticker of your old eprom? That's what would help me compare properly. I did a compare with CAKH2798 and there are slight changes in the air fuel ratio on the richer side up to 3,600 in the 80-95 VE area and the timing map has more advance and it's been smoothed out. If I have done the comparison correctly it should have gone slightly better.

You need to download TunerPro RT and with your bin and XDF file loaded in TunerPro RT you will be able to view the attached bin.
CKAF and BTXN are Holden VR V6 bins

I'm about to go get the numbers off the old, and the new memcal(s)

Slightly better maybe why I hadn't noticed much difference if any.
The trans shift points don't feel any different at all.

OK I had another look using the number off the eprom and your flash chip and yes they have smoothed out the timing map but also pulled fuel out of the VE tables which seems very odd to me. They have also extended the lean cruise area. I think that program is aimed at less fuel consumption. I used your Bin file and the BLCB5067 and the $11B XDF from the1's Memcal ID program. At least the replacement has a 27SF512 flash chip which is a lot faster to program.

VE tables are a number that represents the volume of air going into the engine at a specified RPM and load and the number that's put in forms part of the big calculation for how much fuel it put's in at that point. If you increase the number more fuel is added. You need to use a wideband O2 sensor to log whats happening then make changes to get the air/fuel mix where you want it.
You'll find them if you do a search of your bin file.
