Vt 5l no spark

Post by Baillie122 »

Vt 5l no spark.
Getting injector pulse.
Replaced coil 12v to coil.
Only just put the motor back in everything was running fine prior.
Ignition fuse popping randomly sometimes.
Ignition module only 6 months old but feels very hot.

Many of the aftermarket ignition modules are DOA or high failure rate. If you don't have a wiring issue, its likely faulty. There are threads on here with people finding 2 or 3 faulty new aftermarket ignition modules. Go OEM if you can.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

And don't underestimate the sensor in the distributor either.

I replaced the sensor not long ago in my brother's 5L. The Rare spares ones are excellent! Same make as the genuine sensor but as a complete kit with all the stuff you need. Fixed my brother's car with it's intermittent loss of spark.
