T43 TCM Finding gear ratios in .bin
T43 TCM Finding gear ratios in .bin
I wasnt sure which forum to post this in so apologies if im in the wrong place
Has anyone got any info on finding transmission gear ratios in the t43 TCM? i have tried looking through a t43 bin with winols but i will admit im in way over my head when it comes to searching for maps/tables. Reason for needing to find them is im using a 6l80 tehcm in a 6l50 and i believe the ratios are slightly different and possibly causing me some driveablity issues i cant seem to fix with hptuners. any help would be very appreciated by me and my abortion of a car

There are also high and low ratio limits for the diagnostic routines also that you might need to find if you're tripping codes. The scalar is 1024, signed 16 bit.
Search for:
0x101F......1st
0x0975
0x0621
0x049c
0x0368
0x02ab......6th
These should be in consecutive memory locations.

Awesome. Thankyou. I will look these up as soon as I get a chance. I'm surprisingly not getting any codes so hopefully this will sort out the adaptives slowly getting harsher and harsher

What are we using to read/write t43?
Re: T43 TCM Finding gear ratios in .bin
Those values led me straight to them in a 2009 corvette tcm calibration at address 0x1C6ABA. Good stuff. I will try and find the exact values used in a 6l50 bin and copy them over.
Then i have to get it back into the tcm somehow. I had a quick look at the Universal Patcher software i saw mentioned on the forum and it looks like it will fix the checksum for me. Are there any solutions for flashing it back into the tcm that dont involve paying HP tuners 169USD for the user defined parameters feature?

I use HPTuners
To get the bin file i used the HPT to BIN software i downloaded from the forum in another thread. I dont think it has the ability to go from BIN to HPT though

Yeah, I have a bin converter, like yourself, can't convert back, but may be able to figure something out
Re: T43 TCM Finding gear ratios in .bin
Another one here for HP with the user defined add on.
Re: T43 TCM Finding gear ratios in .bin
So it looks like you can use the HPT to BIN tool to modify the hpt file. I manually made the changes to the hex using the hpt raw edit button and made sure to put in the updated checksum and it exported the file which hptuners flashed in no problem. Sadly im not seeing any less Trans Slip Rpm. In 4th gear i still see around 18-20rpm

Good work. Mind sharing the source for HPT to BIN? Or privately if you prefer
