Drama connecting to car

So I'm trying to help a bloke out with a vs ute l67 converted and the thing does connect to tuner pro eventually but 9/10 will not and is extremely annoying. The ose flasher will also only connect sometimes. Where should I be looking as to why this is happening every other car I have ever tuned has had no drama with connecting regardless on engine combo

Turns out the loom must be shitty as everytime it drops connection i have to unplug and reconnect the ecu then its fine
