VY/VX Flash PCM Recovery (invasive) tips needed

Post by Muncie »

Hi Lads

Just had another PCM roll over today Successful bin Write in OSE flash tool on bench setup installed car no coms no start..... weird.

So anyway since 2019 ive had this happen 4 times and now in NZ a PCM will run me $80-100 if i can find one i've cleaned out Pick a Part
so its now worth the effort of de-soldering the chips and flashing them off the pcm to recover. tell me what i need i'll go shopping!

some kind of programmer like an xgecu T48 and get one with the right adaptor for the chip. Then watch some youtube vids about heat guns and desoldering chips and how to do it without destroying them (acknowledging that is always a very real possibility with heat) and go from there.
