Not sure if this is something everyone here can help with, but a friend of mine has a 2002 Monte Carlo that's throwing a B1001. We think that the BCM was replaced by a previous owner, but we're not sure.
When I tried working with the BCM with my Tech2, it indicated that it was locked. I also tried a theft deterrent relearn using TIS2000, and one or two other procedures that all seemed to succeed, but no change in the B1001.
Most of what I've found suggests we'd need to get a new BCM and preform the procedures before it locks.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this B1001 DTC?
