Hey guys.
I've got a 2003 model SS.
I have a basic on how you go about tuning the early EPROM's and such. Can any of this logic be applied to tuning the late model PCM's?
One would think it to be very similar to the NVRAM eproms used in the VS Ecotec motors would it not (total newby so probably dribbling utter shit here).
Anyway, any information would be great.
P.s, I know about EFIlive, and will take that route if need be but its always good to ask the question. (and save a tonne of money if possible.)

Re: LSx tuning
well yes it is really the same thing except your ls style pcm is flash based so you need to sort out a flash loader to upload your bin to the flash chip
or you can remove the flash chip and reprogram it in a burner as you would any eeprom etc
i have efilive for the editing there is also ls1 edit and hp tuners vcm readily available but they all cost money
im not aware of any free editors available to modify a bin in a conventional manner with tunerpro etc although there is software out there for the road runner
i would love any info on free editors or flash tools if anyone knows of anything but i dont think theres much out there and the guys that have them probably spent more money perfecting them than buying efilive

Yeah I think the same thing also. But perhaps VL400 can shed some light on the issue?

Yeah dont know of anything free yet. Getting some OBD-II things started is on the list but finding the time is the issue, there is a basic tunerpro logging plugin that supports the elm327 so would be great to get a more featured plugin working with that too.

If you have the loaders for reading and writing then it would be easy
