You mean at my top secret out in the country a bit private road testing location? bring it on mate!
I've got a 3.8Manual computer in my VR wagon, will it plug straight in without frying anything for faster logging? If so do i need a different cable and do i use TP4 which i have on my lappy? won't be able to get a log like that in time for the first meeting this weekend but maybe Sunday if the cars still straight and i'm not too hungover.

Re: VN Production Saloon
At drivers breifing i pulled the 4marble giving me grids 4, 13 & 12 for the night, for some reason i was as nervous as hell, possibly from being ready to go in good time without a mad dash to fix the car like usual.
As soon as i went through the gate i was in lets see what this bitch will do mode and gave it a few big squirts to get a bit of heat into the back tyres and it went straight and hard down the back straight till i caught up with the car on grid 2 ' the fronts felt like they had plenty of grip ond the track surface was brilliant, when we got the green coming out of four i nailed it and as the car accelerated FFFAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRKKKKKKK!!!!!!! the bonnet flew up and wrapped itself over the mesh in front of me and over the roof, some bloody rank amateur (me #-o ) didn't lock down the bonnet pins.
I had a narrow slit of vision under the back edge and manage to stay off the wall - stuck my left hand up to signal to cars behind i wasn't racing but couldn't get down off the high line and down to the infeild till the whole feild had flown by somehow without a pile up, when i manage to get down and stop a couple of the flag marshalls peeled it off the screen and tried to close it and one of them slammed it in the middle with the palm of his hand and onto the pins poeed into place, fired it up again and what a racket, bonnet skin on alternator, off came the helmet and belts and sorted it out myself feeling like the biggest twat in the world.

Re: VN Production Saloon
RACE TWO : Grid 13.
Race set off at a rapid pace and the car felt good and was making steady ground and soon found myself in a battle with a few other cars and was moving up high through 3&4 trying too keep just off the car inside me trying not to step too high where it was real greasy still only to find a gaggle of cars in a pileup which i had no way of avoiding in time punting one car pretty hard with my right front corner - back on the gas to weave my way clear and the lights went orange, i discovered i had some part of the guard or bumper was rubbing/scraping my new right front tyre, i thought about my result in the first race for a flash and decided f**k the new tyre i'm going to finish this race, held my own for the most part of the remainder of the race once we went green again but it sounded/felt horrible but i managed to finish eighth.
Got back to my pit and the young fulla i just did the motor for was at my shoulder before i could get out of the car, and gave me a hand getting the bonnet off the pins (bloody thing was stuck fast this time
) and held it for me while i stuck my head in then went running to the truck for a hammer - the missus ran over to my mates streetstock pit and came back with a bloody big sledge and i started bashing the battery box/inner guard area in the ballpark of where it used to be, then the dad of my two biggest rivals the last couple of years whos now a SNZ ref gave a hand getting the bumper/corner of the guard out and forward enough to clear the tyre and line up the bonnet pins again, left the mangled headlight panel tossed aside on the trailer and grabbed some race tape off another competitor to cover the sharp edges of the missmatched guard/bonnet - good as new
time to watch a couple of races.
At the conclusion of two rounds for all classes they announced it was dark enough for the fireworks display, we were next up after so we parked up in our places on the dummy grid and went and enjoyed the show which was awesome.

Re: VN Production Saloon
RACE THREE : FEATURE. Grid 12
There were three cars stuffed and on the trailer so a couple of gaps ahead of me on the starting grid including one right in front of me so i got a bit of a leap when the lights went green coming out of four onto the front straight, made a couple of spots early including eating one of the new BMW's out there going around up high, they wet the track bigtime just before the race so it was real greasy and not many good lines were apearing in a hurry but i felt confident in the steering - the car felt as good as it ever has in those conditions so the new rubber is working really well and with minor pressure adjustments sould be awesome, was chasing down a very quick mitsi gallant V6 from huntly down the front straight and was looking to go inside him going into turn one when he got caught up in an accident between two cars up by the wall and i went fully side on into him at pace, bounced off and gassed it outta there and the orange lights came on - car felt wobbly as hell in the steering and the wheel was tilted about 35degrees left and Farkin HEAVY but i pushed on and gave the old girl all i could when we went green again and furiously manhandled it with my foot hard up it holding my ground sweating like a rapist, when i saw the white flag i thought aww not another one and eventually hung on for a 5th place. The race was one by 5G a Skyline (only rwd to win one race last season) so i stopped next to him on the startline as he was taking the chequered flag to give him a thumbsup. By the time i started winding down i realised how sore my arms were, as i headed through the infeild i noticed a few wide eyed looks at the right front of the car and smiled to my self -yup shes buggered up but i bloody well finished! by the time i got back out of the pit gate i had my gloves, neckbrace and helmet off and was soaked with perspiration and grinning from ear. All through the pits people kept staring at the right side of my car which made my smile even larger. when i got to my pit i hopped out and put the ramps on the trailer and tried to load up but the twisted right front wheel just tried to flick the ramp off so i gave up till all the racing was finished and i could grab a hand, went to the truck and got the camera to take the last two pics a couple of posts ago.
