I managed to get the old girl pulled and beaten near enough to get a fresh guard on, got some fresh paint on and some more signage - the missus scored me my first paying sponsor last week which is cool, $200 seems like small change but it definitely helps so many thanks to Karen and The FIRM.

I've been struggling for a while now pulling her back from full opposite lock and the workout i got with bent steering last time i raced convinced me to refit the power steering - much easier now :D

Got to the track in good time and recieved plenty of ribbing over the bonnet pin incident - saw it coming a few times and got in first - yes i can take the piss outta myself, qualifies me to give others stick!!

Drivers breifing i pulled the 7 marble giving me grids 7, 1 & 11 for the night

First race
MAIN 1:
Started cleanly enough and bided my time till i got the chance to move up to a higher line, the big heavy beast does not like running down low on the pole line, and started making a bit of ground till some young hothead fresh out of a ministock last season now in a prelude started trying to push me up onto the wall down the back straight - i held my ground then lifted a wee bit, silly bugger tried to baulk me but swung up too soon and clipped my front bumper, went sideways and hit the wall, spun and mounted the wall a couple of times right in front of my WIDE eyes, hit the picks and avoided hitting him when he came to rest ON the wall. I thought they were going to hang that on me but when we got a restart i kept my position and eventually finished fourth. Had a trip to the tower with license in hand and had to do a please explain, gave my version as above and the official i have had a few run ins with in the past said that was how he saw it :D no warning, fine or slap on the wrist whew.

808 WINS

MAIN 2
Started off grid one, took it gently coming through four on the pace lap and hit the gas in the green light got to turn one first and took my line and held the lead having the occasional glance at my mirror to see the 9g prelude keeping two car lenghts behind me, the car felt real loose through three and four so i took it easy till i could nail it down the straight, felt pretty good through one and two and managed to keep the gap about the same for the rest of the race, had to keep reminding myself to take it easy and just maintain my buffer behind me till the checkered flag dropped I BLOODY WELL WON IT!!!!!!
Hauled ass around to the man with the flag to claim it for a long overdue victory lap fuck that felt good. The missus brought me a pair of black and white checkered boxer shorts last week and made sure i was wearing them tonight. Might just have done the trick WOOOHOOO!!!!!!

FEATURE RACE

Before the race i was talking to someone up on the pit wall who said to me "shit first race you stuck some silly bugger up the wall, second you bloody won it, what next?" Made me think.

Lined up on the dummy grid in eleventh, inside line again grrr. We were delayed for a while and i got thinking about what was in front of me and figured i wanted to try and keep my nose clean half expecting carnage to unfold in front of me and really didn't want to be getting caught up in any of it and spend the next two weeks trying to straighten the old bitch out again only to bash it up again, the race got under way without incident and was thick and fast luckly without much banging but plenty of rubbing. Without damaging the car i finished well don't no where yet didn't hang around i'm celebrating =D>

Got carried away and gave it a wash - about all i was capable of today after a very late night.
020post.jpg
all the damage it sustained was a couple of minor dings and a few rub marks which i don't thnk i'll even bother with before taking it out again

One for my new sponsor
