don't want to think what sort of damage would have been done if it was the fibre glass one on the bank!!

will run without .cranking signal is for antibackfire the v6 had a habit of backfiring from crank to no crank if it didnt start.pulls pin to chassis when cranking and goes open when not cranking some xdf defs you can change that to +12 when cranking.my mate put a vn v6 engine in a fishing boat.i did a memcal for it.unfortuantly he swapped it for another boat before we put it in the water to finish the tune.i think off memory in the tune i disabled closed loop by maxing closed loop enable temp.no vss so might have to crack the butterfly open slightly.disabled all codes related to oxygen sensor.disabled decelaration fuel cutoff and decel enleanment no knock sensor thats about it .other option is to run it on an vn vp 808 ecu and map sensor .if any water spray contacts the air flow meter element it will affect it .good luck and let us know how it goes cheers darren.

Ok thanks will keep it in mind if we have trouble with the maf tho it should be ok the air intake is under a cover. Hopefully not to much heat with the exhaust manifolds all water jacketed.

Eprom burner will be here on Sunday according to DHL so i'll be into it next week, Got the eprom out of the memcal and soldered a socket in my new eprom is 2k instead of 1k but it will just address the bottom half of it I assume and 100nS is fast enough?

Well got my willam copy off ebay. chucked an 29f002 in it and burnt the bin to it seams to work good on this chip,

so i tryed the 27c2001 that i bought, blank test ok, but won't program, it says error at 0x000000 chip = 0xff buffer= 0x00 says this instantly as i suppose this is at the first address.

running EPP on my parallel port, powered off 12v 3A power supply, dip switches as per the image and some of the jumpers that are in the picture are as they say, there are other jumpers that i don't know what they do.

VPP is 12.5v tested this and it seams close maybe 12.2v

also tryed a 27c256 eprom read it i tried re programing over the top of it and it did it ok and verified ok ( it wasn't blanked so i don't know if this shows anything)

currently trying to erase the 27c010 that was in the ecu with my fly zapper tube but it's been on there for around 15 mins now and still says its not blank, need more power! well power at the right frequency

will the 29f002 work in place of the 27c010 that the ecu had before ?
Any ideas why i can't program ?
Usual story, buy cheap shit and get burnt... or not

Ok more playing, I accdently pulled the image off the blank chip and flashed it back on and found it gives similar errors but at address further through the chip. So what it saying when it checks the data to see if it's programed (or not programed in this case) it's not matching.

I can get it to do a full program of the blank image if i turn the timing sliders down (ie smaller numbers, ie faster), I can do a blank test after all this and it shows blank which it should.
This seams kinda backwards to what i expected.

Still can't program with the sliders down

faulty eprom ?
faulty operator :)?

yeah the 29f002 should work, you might have to put a pull-up (or down) resistor on pin A17 to ensure it reads the correct half of the chip, or you could stack two tunes on there and use a switch
The fly zapper tube may not output enough of the correct wavelength of UV light (253.7nm) as it is hazardous to living organisms.

Still I Have no go on the ecotec running the flash ic that I programed with the image above stacked twice, and a 47k pull down on A17.
Might try find the required adjustment in the origional bin or get aldl going or at least a cel so it can tell my whats going on. How do i end up with these jobs an why is everything so hard... ie Tunerpro not working in my old xp cos i don't have the right dll's ahhh

And my programer pulls over 400mA on the 12v when trying to program is that good ? if i go in to the hardware test tab with the dip switchs set as per 27c020 it draws large current as soon as i turn on vpp if i set the dip switch as per the drawings in the hardware tab it doesn't.

I want a nice usb emulator !!!

Edit:

I worked out in the hardware test that the difference that made it draw high current was number 2 so i set number 2 opposit to the drawing and it programed and verified my new chip !! but still no run in the boat :sad2:
