Yep power all there and at the injectors, think tomorows job will be aldl and cel.

Is this circuit good, theres some talk about reversing the diode.

That circuit does work however your relying on the serial port being able to read voltages that are outside the RS232 standard. The diode is correct, it shunts the negative RS232 voltage to ground.

Have fixed the ADX link too.

The backwards diode is on the techedge max232 based circuit. Personally I have had a good run with max232 based circuits, and have not used 2 tran based one, though I have heard of interfearance trouble on some vehicles. For the price you might as well try it, and if your data is being corrupted or it doesnt work at all try another circuit or purchase one of vl400s usb modules which seem quite noise immune.

The boat goes :)

Thanks heaps for all your help, I didn't build the aldl cable but I might still out of interest.

I have no idea why it goes tho! I had the stacked image in the flash ic, but only the bottom half of the eprom had the image so i thought that i'd try put the stacked image in the eprom and it started, then i went back to the flash ic and it also started exactly as all was last night :) well it was a little wet from the rain, just shock the water out of the plugs before plugging them into the ecu (which was inside) maybe thats all it took, hopefully i'll never find the problem.

My uv eraser (the sun) hasn't been working too good hope those little windows are water proof... been 3 days now, the chip looks strange when you read it, sort of blocks of repeating pattens not the old code or all erased to 0xFF. Well it can sit out there and i'll burn it for is spare ecu when it's done.

Thanks again

sit them on the roof for a week or 2 in summer and they will erase eventually just blank check them every couple of days. a uv eraser is cheap and they do come in handy
