Found this sequence of pics on the local paper website, shows the end of the ride for the honda that clipped my front bumper trying to baulk me, the writeup in the paper kinda makes me look like the bad guy but i don't care if it makes dickheads think twice before knocking my car around
http://www.gisborneherald.co.nz/photos/ ... px?id=1077 , worked it out with a mate who drives a streetstock and was in the stands when it happened that it went around 2 & 3/4 turns before coming to rest on the wall.

Bit of a shame to see a car get wrecked like that and a few folks are a bit pissed at me for doing it from what i hear on the grapevine - even though he did it to himself. He's decided Productions arent for him and brought a Streetstock - was racing it on Saturday night.

Had a few distractions Saturday that were high stress and couldnt really be fucked to go racing but did anyway. At drivers breifing Production Saloons were singled out for a big telling off and a warning that any hitting-trailer, if the cars not handling-slow down or trailer, stick to your line or -you guessed it-trailer.Main 1 started off grid 5 and found myself stuck on the low groove up the tail of my mate in the 14G commodore and my driving was utter crap, it got pretty hairy a few times when i took a look at a pass and my brakes got the hardest workout they've ever had with me rattled and paranoid about getting in the shit up in the tower, ended up finishing ninth and wild, made a right twat of myself in the pits to my mate basically accusing him of baulking me - i've had a taste of humble pie but think i need to have another couple of slices yet.

Main2 i started at the back off grid 12 and felt a lot happier up in the high groove hanging back hunting for clear gaps, behind 14g again he was getting held up a bit by a wee pink pulsar 31G, that thing was just sledging up a groove from down low through 3/4 and really slowing us down, after watching it for a couple of laps i took a run up by the wall down the back straight and stayed in the top groove into three and thought i'd got around both cars cleanly with a full carwidth gap to 31G when it sledged through four hard into my side but my car pretty much stuck to its line without a hiccup, by races end i'd managed to get to 6th.

Feature race i lined up on grid 4 behind 4G(skyline) on a track that had been heavily doused by the watertruck, the driver of that skyline is a wily competitor who reckonns the wetter and graesier the better and he rapidly took off in the lead when we went green and i was struggling to stay on the same straight in no time, a lot of people were struggling with the track as was i but it didn't take many laps to start lapping a couple of cars and with a couple of laps remaining the hitting startedthrough 3/4. The 9G prelude had made his way onto my tail and started dishing it to my rear - dunno whats behind the plastic bumper on that thing but it pretty much fucked the rear of my car last season and now the new panels are receiving. managed to slip by a slower cardown the front straight narrowly keeping off the wall at full tilt into a gap that wasn't there for him which bought me time to get around one last time unmolested to hang on for second. I have been told by a couple of people they reckoned i was going up the wall

Raced tonight, in the process of drinking enough to be able to sleep before work in the morning ;)

Main1: started off grid 11, did a bit of extra grooving on three of my tyres during the week and tried different pressures in them tonight - worked  pointed well and good grip on the throttle, starting behind my mate in the 14g VK and on the inside i avoided any contact and kept my nose clean (how stuns me but the brakes got a fair old workout) and picked off gaps as i could, had a red light near the end when 31G caught fire (smelt it before i saw the flames), good restart and managed to finish sixth - best parts were my mate in the 13G VL picked up his first ever win (now in his fourth season) Onya Mat! Awesome! pity they fucked up your name on the time sheet. And i finally got a posted sub 18sec. lap. 17.8555 http://www.gisbornespeedway.com/wp-cont ... 2/m5r6.txt

Main2: grid 4 outside line behind 14G again, 37G V300 mitsi on pole (going really well this season with a new owner/driver) and 24G skyline beside me (this car/driver caused me a lot of dramas last seasondue to the thing behind the wheel over driving waaaay beyond control). got underway cleanly at a fast pace with 37G getting a good lead and a real battle for second with three cars for a few laps, got slammed in the left front guard by 24G sledging(funny that) but no damage to handling/steering luckily and after several laps (i dont count them-got enough to deal with) stayed high through 1/2 when 14g dropped down for the corner and got by cleanly, looked in my mirror as i gunned it down the back straight a gnats dick off the wall to see 14G ride up it then 17G(V6 Eunos coupe) behind him do the same but they managed to carry on but i lost a bit of pace expecting an orange light which never came, managed to get a bit oa a buffer behind me to hang on for a second spot though, the lap times show how greasy the track was (weather been dry and windy for a coupla weeks and low tide tonight but lots of water truck) http://www.gisbornespeedway.com/wp-cont ... /m5r12.txt

Feature: grid 7 inside line again dammit, didn't really wanna race, had my mind on other things (i'll update swings & roundabouts later), torrid race with 11G(beemer pos) wildly taking up most of the track all over the place in front of myself and 44G(ex championship winning car now with an old football teammate behind the wheel) waiting for a big enough gap to open up to get by without carnage, took a few laps but it happened, finished 5th and another sub 18 :punk: http://www.gisbornespeedway.com/wp-cont ... /m5r18.txt

Post meeting conclusions: the bourbons are kicking in but i'm still pretty clear - check spelling  the car handled bloody well tonight, however a bloody big bootfull didn't scare me in the slightest and didn't really close up the gaps in front once i got a clear track in front of me so either my balls have grown (doubtfull at my age) or its time for more grunt. My sheds the cleanest its been in months so best i find funds for a cam and finish off Mr. delcowizzids heads and get a realtime tune to extract every last neddy i can outta the bitch i can ( time depends on a fuckedup ministock, will update swings and roundabouts when sober)

Tonight was the clubs 40th Anniversary Eastland Champs

Drivers breifing i pulled the 12 marble giving me grids 12, 5 & 7 for the night, we had a couple of visitors tonight, a skyline from rotovegas that was originally from here (the owner lives at the mount and was contracted here lest season ) ( was here last week and i blew its doors off) and a VR from Huntly that i was real keen to have a crack at as i havent had a chance to compare myself against another V6 dunnydore, got the jitters and wen't a bit shaky ( no i haven't overindulged over new years (for a change  ), and helped me mum to a seat in the stands (she flew down from Aucks for christmas and thoroughly enjoyed getting to see me race while here but a bit unsteady on her feet now (80 this year)).

We got bumped up the programme a bit for the first race and when we lined up on the dummy grid in the pits i had this nagging feeling something weren't quite right but being the stubborn bastard that i am told myself to pull me heed in and get into it, got out onto the track and worked on getting some heat into the rear tyres on the formation and warmup laps ( had a look in the mirror and chuckled at all the mud on the CRX behind me ) got a green through 3/4 hit the gas and turned and...............nothing-no steering, went up in the marbles and into the wall on an oblique angle FUCKEN HARD and bounced off it a coupla times and wobbled into it a few more times before managing to head for the infeild to become a spectator, luckily i had me baccy in my overies pocket ( ran into a mate half an hour or so later and she reckoned she said to her man "look at Lloyd hes rolling himself a smoke" he was like "no way- aw fuck hes lighting up" much shaking of heads) awesome view of a race from the infeild but not one i care to see too often. got hauled back to the pits on a tractor for the first time ever and my fellow commodore driving mates uncle PJ whos in town came and gave me a hand to fix er up. Got it jacked up and hmmm both right rims bent, tie rod-snapped at end of thread, right front bottom arm- bitter, bent and twisted, steering rack-fucked- rack bent and housing split, ---CAUSE---rubber coupling in steering shaft decided its had enough of my abuse and became a sorta part timer( my mig will sort that lazy fucker out for good) , we got the tie rod outta the rack and got a another stocker in and got the poor b(gotta stop calling her that 'b' word, might be hurting her feelings  ) and got her on the trailer.
Didn't see the point in shooting home for a half assembled rack and getting it out again half arsed and do more damage when there was no club season points tonight and our class champs next Saturday. Went and spent the rest of the night as a spectator and help mates out where i could see 'swings and roundabouts'

Body was well sore from my excursion into the wall last night, ibuprofen, a massage and manipulation helped followed by a big helping of doing sweet F A . Eventually got 34G off the trailer and got the right rear jacked up to get the wobbly rim off before it gouged out my good tyre and discovered the true cause of my woes. Looks like my 'mig locker' has let go on the right making the car one wheel drive - had someone who saw it happen tell me it looked like the car launched to the right when i stepped on the gas when the light went green. Guess that means the steering shaft is just another one of the victims rather than a cause
