Then maybe you didn't find the right location ...

Are you typing in this exact line,
%localappdata%\PcmHacking
percent symbols as well ??
That should show a folder on the right side of the screen that starts with,
PcmHammer.exe_Url
File Explorer view ...

it's not there as you can see. I just wanted to post this before i try the other file you sent me. i'm thinking the app store installs it in a way that is causing the problem. will report soon. i don't always have internet for this pc to try things quickly.

SUCCESS!!!! so i just ran the file you sent me gampy, and it connected to my nano no problem. Apparently the microsoft app store installation prevented the program from functioning properly. Thanks for all the help and i hope this prevents others from having the same problem. can't wait to start using this instead of trying to make it work. would like to know if other were able to use this off the app store or if its specific to certain pc's like mine

my elm still hangs the program but it is a cheap one, prob a clone. it does work with other programs, but not important.
The pcmhacking folder exists in appdata/local now after installing the program directly

app store issue or windows issue...either way didn't work for me. Thanks again!!!

Absolutely Freaking Awesome!

That explains something else to me as well, this path,

it's been bugging me.

Somebody needs to look into that AppStore installation, I cannot imagine you are the only one with issues, bothers me even more to think others may be having the issue and are not saying anything about it.

So thank you for taking us on this journey and having the fortitude to stick with it ...

I can't believe what I just did ... But I did it, now I regret it!

I just installed PcmHammer from the Microsoft App Store on a fresh clean (hours of crap removal) install of W10x64 on one of my lab boxes ... And I forgot to mirror it first!

Followed the Microsoft Blue "Get" buttons.
(They sure do try awful hard to get you to think you have to Sign Up, you will someday, and it'll cost ya, one way or another!)

It worked, no issues that I can make happen, everything works fine, I do not have a VXDiag VCX Nano, however all my tools work.

I do not like Windows 10, nor have I researched all the hidden things they (MS) are doing behind your back, and that they are, so they must be doing things they do not want you to know about!
I assure you, it's not as good for you as it is for them.

They are definitely _hiding_ PcmHammer (apparently all MS Store Apps) in \Program files\WindowsApps, and wrapping it with a security blanket.
It seems that PCMHammers Settings location is under
%localappdata%\Packages\32430NSFW.PCMHammer_*\LocalCache\Local\PcmHacking
It seems that PCMHammers Content Cache is under
%localappdata%\Packages\32430NSFW.PCMHammer_*\LocalCache\Roaming\PcmHacking
Uninstalling PCMHammer does remove the above locations and data.

Thanks for figuring this out. I'm pretty sure this is a side-effect of the sandbox that Windows Store apps run in.

It might be possible to work around this by changing the settings in the app store submission - I'm reading up on it now.
Please don't PM me with technical questions - start a thread instead, and send me a link to it. That way I can answer in public, and help other people who have the same question. Thanks!
