Yeah i would but i cant reproduce the problem. Now that its working it wont stop working ,ive uninstalled and reinstalled new version alone and it seems to work fine now.Id probly have to reinstall xp again.
What i think is the problem is for some reason tp5 is being installed differently on some pcs as i have the same prob as monaro 308.
When tp5 is installed on mine and his we arent getting the plugin folder installed to documents/tunerpro files.... its installing this folder to documents/ ...... and also i noticed in antus screen shot in c:/program files the tunerpro rt5 folder is differently named mine says just tunerpro rt ,but when i open tunerpro it says latest version no.
Go figure that one. :comp:

I added the 5 on the end of mine as thats a test machine ive had for quite a while now and it still has TP4 RT in the "tunerpro rt" directory.

im starting to suspect there might be an install component or reg entry that gets installed with the older builds but not with the newest one, hence why it works on upgraded installs but not fresh ones on a new install of windows...

perhaps I should install xp fresh in vmware and try the new one straight up.

I think you must be right jayme
I just installed the latest tp5 build on a laptop that had never had tp installed before and it wouldnt pick up ose plugin anywhere.
Iuninstalled and deleted all tp folders ,installed a older version that works (came out on 10/ 10/ 10), then i installed latest version and it picked up the plugin straight away.
It works in program files/tunerpro rt..... and the plugin folder if i move the plugin folder to documents/tunerpro files

Thanks fella's....i'm glad it wasn't only me,i was feeling like a right old lame dickhead thinking what the hell have i done wrong after using your great work without a hitch before.
I did mention that i did a clean install of XP a couple of weeks ago with SP2 and installed the sp3 update last night.
I haven't given it a go tonight but will tomorrow.
Like Vn5000 said on TP5 install there are folders ie plug-in,tunerpro, tunerpro files folders in different places like they normally aren't.
Sorry for the hassle but i sure do appreciate your work and time that goes into making it happen.
cheers and i'll let you know my outcome

Looks like Mark is aware of the folder issue.

Hi all,all good now
Woke up this morning and installed an earlier version first and deleted it to install the latest version like Vn5000 did ;) and moved the folders to the correct position and it recognised the plug-in straight away.
Also just read yoda's post
Thanks again as it really had me baffled on saturday.
Great job!

After some discussion and testing its become apparent that the plugin needs the visual studio 2008 redist package installed. Older TP builds installed it which is why they brought fresh XP installs up to speed. The later ones no longer do. The proper fix is to download and install this from microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... layLang=en

I'll update the first post and list it as a dependency.

New release!

v1.2.3 [06-April-2011]
* fix crash when stopping/starting car while logging
* fix 12p echo mode sync issue with 128 byte write packets
* update to visual studio 2010 - no issues requiring install of vc2008 redist
* now asks the system for available comports and lists all of them in the configuration box. Can now use com ports above 10
* new passthrough mode - if no known device is detected, it'll go in to 'passthrough mode' meaning you can leave the plugin selected and log any vehicle with the right adx.
