i know ones go for $300-400 for v6 conversions so it shouldn't be too hard to be competitive!!

Yeah certainly wont be that expensive holden202!

Its a one box does all, uses a DIP switch to select the vehicle. When first installed on VT and later you just set the link switch on and it links the PCM and this box so VATS passes from then on. On VT and later it does all the usual data bus message scheduling (including the heartbeat) so could use the VT instrument cluster if you wanted.

Awesome work once again VL400.
With the stuff now available for Delco tuning, makes you wonder why people still persist with aftermarket ECU's.
Guess it's the old head in the sand mentality.

How do you learn all this vl400? I would like to have a read of how the bcm and ecu etc communicate. It seems to be difficult to find. Can you point me to a site or something? Maybe I am not searching with the right terms.

Hes figured it all out himself! There wouldnt be many (any?) people around who know as much about these things as he does. You wont find a site with as much technical info as this one anywhere else on the net either. :punk:
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

All the info is in the bin :)

The VR and VS VATS I worked out with 12P, made it selectable so needed to know how each worked. VT on VATS was a little harder as the PCM and BCM need to be linked and its not a fixed data frame. I dont want to publicly announce exactly how the VATS works, would like to for the benefit of getting info out there, but its not really a good move to show thieves how to defeat the security system

To see what bus chatter goes on can just scan the data bus, EFILive V4 demo does a great job of showing chatter. We documented a bit on the VT here .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=724
