Vt maf to map conversion

Post by shane1 »

Hi guys has anyone tried a maf to map conversion on a VTSS 5.0 im thinking of doing it instead of bending a vy maf sensor to a vt to make it work the engine is a 355 stroker with a 286 cam and 100mm throttle body on a custom manifold. Im sure its possible just wanna know if anyones tried it and if its worth the agro?

Im not sure what you mean by 'bending a vy maf sensor' but as far as going map on a VT, you'll need kalmaker workshop to add support for it to the ecu, so you'll need to price that up first to see if you want to go down that road.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

There's a bit more to it than that unfortunately.
The way the BCM / PCM function is completely different between VS & VT.
Will cause problems with cooling fans, instruments, AC and who knows what else.
As per Antus's comment, the only solution at this stage is Kalmaker.

Got this thing tuned up used a vy maf and injectors tuned up great only thing is it needs some throttle follower to stop the idle speed dropping to fast on downshifts causing a stall. But theres very little iac control in the vt v8 xdf. Any ideas ?
