Have tested each pin from ostrich straight through to the adapter but ostrich will not work, upload bin, set to bank 8 but pcm wont fire up, put a eeprom in the socket and pcm fires up straight away. So im out of ideas atm.

I thought the cable had to be less than 6 inches long? Perhaps shortening it can work?

Tried with a real short cable no go, i think it must be the signal doesn't like either the pins so close together as it would normally be used for dip. Ive left it there, anymore time on this should be spend on nvram in the future.

Those plcc adaptors and sockets are hit or miss had many that would only connect when half pressed in or in on an angle lol I used to have to put a square of cardboard in the socket before placing plcc chips in on some sockets lol

I dont think any current forum members have a working one. Happy to be wrong about that. But if it was me i'd be going back to this post and making up a small patch loom to plug a pcm nvram in to this header, not bothering with the ostrich which has always been a bit funny about signal quality. viewtopic.php?p=123802#p123802

If you can get it running in hardware thats half the job done. Not sure who would put realtime in the OS but its been done enough times before that I dont think it'd be insurmountable.

Any combination to real time tune flash based pcm's.
Sick and tired of flashing and swapping pcms on the dyno.
Steady state stuff especially 🤣

yeh using decent socket, can put a eeprom in first go anytime and works perfect. But yeh alot are dodgy i hate plcc over dip.
