Re: PowerPCM_Flasher: my tool for E38 and E67
Was there ever an update for no VATs on an E67. Picked up 1 for $25 a year ago, waiting for the right tools. I mostly lost interest when I read that wasn't something this software did.

This tool just flashes the bin. Universal patcher for bin edits and auto checksum correction. Not sure if that helps

No update. The original creator has lost interest or something. Others have tried contacting him.
As you know. Power_PCM flasher only flashes the calibration section of the bin. For Vats delete to work, need a full write including the OS.

Lashed out & got an OBDXPro GT & while I get it that ELM mode isn't the best way to fly, I did find that it handles a scan of 2Mb read over 65 seconds/33kB/s in ATMA mode AOK with no overrun/Buffer full errors. (OBDLink SX doesn't remotely get near that.) If the buffer does overrun, what is the message BTW?Tazzi wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 2:20 amWell, I run it in my own vehicle without any problems. I don't believe I have ever tried running a bus at 100% load to test it out though.MPC001 wrote: Sat Apr 05, 2025 10:49 am![]()
Cool. Slightly off topic, but will OBDX Pro GT handle CAN scanning at full speed in ELM mode I.e.ATMA without any buffer over run?
Realistically... using ELM commands to monitor 100% bus isn't really a smart idea due to how inefficient the ELM protocol is (Lots of byte<->string conversions).
Its much better to be using the byte based protocol (DVI), although obviously requires more work to setup a library to start using it.

UniversalPatcher isn't for gen 4 stuff.

You sure? Decent amount of tables here for my gen 4 e67 and also for my t43. And it auto corrects the checksums.

Hi AngleMarc. Universal Patcher does work for gen4, not covered as well as gen3. Sorry for the confusion. You asked about vats for the E67 and there has been nothing new for that. UP does support E38 vats delete and DOD off. Again, sorry for the confusion. Have a great day.

Any of that in the official release?

High AngelMarc. Yes it's included. I don't know when gen4 support was added. Only had UP maybe 6 months. The E38 has better defined XML's, hence it supports Vats delete and DOD off, the E67 does not, but does have some things figured out. There is a flaw when trying to create a E38 patch. I wrote the author, and he supplied me a beta version that worked. Not sure if he has updated it since. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Guess I've been under a rock on that and was just thinking of PCMHammer.
