The tuning software that was used to put the garbage in the bin file determines what changes need to be made and where. That is a task you are responsible for. Additionally if the bin contains patches by xyz tuning software, then only that tuning software should be used to edit.

Yes, we use PCMTEC primarily, but being inquisitive we are pursuing other avenues to tune other models of cars. The cost factor is of course a consideration. We have now come across the .BIN to .XDF "conversion" just to add to the learning curve lol. Thanks for replying.

Hi, so is it simply a matter of getting PCMFlash and the dongle with module 21 and it will unlock the ecu in a Falcon, just like pcmtec?
It really can't be compared to PCMtec. They are 2 completely different tools.
PCMflash will read & output to a bin file & write a bin file back. The bin files don't display in a user friendly format for tuning & are useless to the majority of the population.

If you look at the almost 70 pages of the thread where PCMtec started from, you will see it started with a few people hacking to get a bin file extracted, then reverse engineering the bin files & onto software developement to display the engine calibration area in a user friendly interface. I'm sure I've seen Rolls say somehwere that there were thousands of hours in the developement for Falcon platform alone.

Here's a link to a Falcon bin file if you've never seen one.

VIN change for SID209 TC1797 ecu. It is installed on 2015 Ford Everest 2.2liter P4AT diesel engine.

I have the EEPROM file and FLASH (orifile) extracted.

Anyone willing to help? Thanks in advance.

What year is it? I was able to accomplish a VIN relearn on a 2017 MEDG17 using a mode 31 request to relearn VIN and other parameters from the BCM.
