PCM Logger improvements

Post by antus »

I wanted to give PCM Logger some love so I improved the graphical UI and features. I'd still call it an MVP, but it is working in my testing. The code review is below, though line ending changes made a mess of it :comp: :x . My aim was to lift PCM Logger to the next level and make it usable to someone who wants to see the data and make it work by clicking without editing XMLs. I may consider improvements on request, but my main focus remains PCM Hammer itself.

Please do, I do not have a lot of time. I have something that works, but its probable things people will want or need in the real world are missing. If you can flag them, I can add them. I want it to be at least usable at a basic level. That's the target milestone.

I gave it a try. I really like the layout, but could not figure out how to change what parameters are shown in the gauges.

Need to start with blank gauges and let the user select what is shown. Also adding tick marks, labels and color to the gauges.

I wanted to build something like this, just don't know enough to even try.

At the moment it only imports tunerpro adx file dashboards. so you would make it in tunerpro, import it, then assign the guages to pids. It does not have its own full blown editor yet. You can right click the gauges and change the type and the pid.

created a way to add a new gauge but it splits the area between a current gauge which caused the gauge to be half the normal size.
This keeps all the gauges on a single screen with no scrolling. Thought I would ask for some feedback. rather see a full gauge size and have to scroll
or is the half gauge size with no scroll ok?

I think it has value. When I am logging I'd usually be using a page like that to see live data in a controlled situation where I have time to stare a little bit if I want to check a less critical item. Then I'd use monitors for the bulk of the actual tuning work to see the relationship between different inputs and outputs over time.

Hey Antus, Any-chance of short term and long term fuel trim graphs, same as vcm scanner ?

would like to copy and paste to rapid fire companion app, and same for wideband.

Or tables windows for spark, fuel trims, wideband

and be able to set columns and rows to match VVE

This would then line up for me to use PcmHammer for ecu tunning
