On my Bench

Post by VNracer34G »

Hey Guys, havent posted in a bit, finally had a cleanup of sorts and made some space in the shed after a hectic speedway season and got motorvated to pull a couple of pairs of heads out for a tickleup.

The "rustproof" heads i pulled off a stockcar on monday for porting - lets see who spots whats fucked up here?

One inlet guide boss roughly knocked into shape seventeen to go

Should keep me out of the wifeys hair for a wee bit and then i've got a bit of a list for 34G for next season.

Snap mate, and the 619 seriesII was on the right bank which does nothing with the extra hole in the intake face and hose was hooked up to the breather on the left side of the manifold - blanked off by the 485 seriesI casting - seemingly this is a 'trick' cos "one side of the engine runs leaner than the other" go figure - had a good look at the chambers before stripping and this thing runs fat as in 5&6 but lean up front, i think i'll be moving the carb.

whats the number under the inlet runner and on the back of the heads you have? one of those pairs has your name on it already

sweet ill check the casting number tomorrow they are in my boot touring round town :D normally at low throttle the rear 2 are lean lots of high throttle the front 2 go lean its all due to the rear TB setup.the yanks on the turbo engines have a flat plate full of holes in the base of there manifolds for air distribution man i had to spell that 4 times LOL there plenum bolts on top of a lower intake manifold though but it has been something ive been thinking about

Righto then the stockcar pair have done a season and the owner is over the moon about them. There was a bit of a different approach to csa and throat size/shape on those puppies being two barrell carb & restrictor plate.

Next pair is coming along nicely now the season/carnage is done for me and i can get some other stuff done, i reckon if these got put on 34G it'd be an absolute dog till approaching the limiter - should work on a turbo motor tho' with some work on the intake and DECENT pipes feeding the snail.
