Re: ecu from Astra ld with 10 pin obd1 connector
yeah if you haven't already got it you need to wire in the check engine light so when you jumper the diagnostic link it will flash the light.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: ecu from Astra ld with 10 pin obd1 connector
The CEL should be connected between 12v ignition (pink wire/pin H on the obd connector) and pin A5 (blue/red) which is pin E on the OBD connector.
A 10k resistor between the diag request line (A9/brown) and earth will start flashing out the codes. On the OBD port they're A and B.
Long flashes are tens, short flashes are ones so a code of 24 would be two long flashes and 4 short flashes.

Thanks everyone. I'll give it a try . Do you have to use the resistor . Can u just use a peice of
Wire . I spoke to a tuner today and he said use a peice of wire

Yeah for the CEL to flash its a wire link to ground the diagnostic enable wire. A 10K resistor gets it spitting data out if you have a laptop/scantool and a memcal that supports 160baud comms.
Re: ecu from Astra ld with 10 pin obd1 connector
I'll take your word for it - when I recently wired up my CEL I used a resistor to flash the codes, didn't even think to try a wire link!

yeah i normally just get a paper clip and use that or in the case of my gemini i have a switch hard wired in!

Re: ecu from Astra ld with 10 pin obd1 connector
Looking at the connector the closest things to brown is either brown with yellow or brown with white tracer any ideas ??
Re: ecu from Astra ld with 10 pin obd1 connector
Pin 'B' on the diagnostic port.
My LD wiring diagram shows it as a brown wire on A9, and my N13 harness has a brown wire there too.
Just check what colour wire in in A9.

I don't suppose I cold get a copy of the Astra wiring diagram of you ?
I'm about to post some pics of the connector .
