i dare say if your doing almost 3000rpm at 100kms thats probably part of the reason for bad fuel economy, but really you need to get some data logs of whats happening to see for sure.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

A couple of people have, try doing a search for "hilux", you'll find a few threads and storys about vs v6 and 4l60e in hiluxs. Mostly, i think, were not conversion problems, but wiring issues, but if you have a bit of a read you'll lean something no doubt
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

if it really is a series 1 vn engine dont run the baam memcal its got bugger all timing for a series 1 engine and will drink a bit extra fuel
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

it is a S1 VN engine running a VP BAAM ECM '808 with a Delco ARBP 4435 SV3800 memcal. I have just bought a spare ecu which is a VP BABR '808 with a BABR 3575 would this better suit?? i was looking at doing the NVRAM ECM conversion with the USB serial interface from VL400 for in car tuning. Is this still my best option or can you suggest anything better "delcowizzid" ?delcowizzid wrote:if it really is a series 1 vn engine dont run the baam memcal its got bugger all timing for a series 1 engine and will drink a bit extra fuel

Cheers to VL400 for the ECM upgrade.. Can't wait to get it all installed and start working on some custom tunes for the lux.
