Ah OK I know those boards are going to be the early version, there is a fix to stop the issue you have which occurs on some ecus as they get old.

You will most likely need a programmer to burn the 12p bin again at some point, but for now can remove the map_sw jumper and run from the second bank of the nvram. Once your done tuning, or earlier and can also reprogram it, send it back and will update the board.

Will need to reprogram the NVRAM, if you have an EPROM programmer just burn the base 12P stacked bin from the downloaded zip file.

I would also be checking all soldered connections are ok and the NVRAM was pushed in to the ECU socket all the way - the second bank usually only gets corrupted if the NVRAM loses connection with the ECU while the key is on. Having it drop in and out of limp mode (you mentioned the fan turning on and off) also suggests maybe there is a bad connection somewhere.
