I cut 2mm off with a hacksaw then just hit with a file until it's sitting perfect.

I was wondering if there would be any addvantage too the teeth if I made them a more of a point than just leaving them a square tooth?

Dont sharpen them to points, they need the square edges or the signal will not rise and fall properly. It becomes slower, the sharp edges cause a fast rise and fall with good signal strength.

Ah ok. That setup would work ok as its not sharpened right up and would be machined so every tooth is identical. There are some laser cut wheels like that. The trigger point is the middle of the tooth so sharpening one edge more than the next actually moves that point.

I remember seeing this ages ago and thought you were wanting to do the same sort of thing :wtf:

Signal coming off a good wheel will be a reluctor signal which is a sine wave.
