Results after a "profesional tune"
Re: Results after a "profesional tune"
not 100% sure, could be once or two time with a half pulse as delco said, for 12p 11p, VL400 would be best to answer seeing he knows the code. As there's plenty of variations of "Batch Fire".
Yes Seq is per cylinder, full pulse injected.

Re: Results after a "profesional tune"
ok, thanks.
I'm intrigued to why this engine ran so bad with incorrect injector timing, where 808 it doesn't seem to matter with batch injection?

It seems pretty obvious I thought sequential has more options to choose, 3 per revolution where as batch has half or quarter as many options?

Re: Results after a "profesional tune"
The '808 being batch has one injector driver, it has two modes of injection...
Single Fire - one injection event per engine cycle (ie one every two revs). Limited to 50% duty cycle injector PW.
Double Fire - two injection events per engine cycle (ie one per rev). This is the default and should always be used. The auto switching option to single fire can be used with large injectors at low pulse widths.
The injection event occurs on a ref pulse (often called sync fuel in the XDF), this will be any random cyl and does not matter at all which one. The memcal (or jumpers on the NVRAM board) selects the cyl count, this tells the '808 how many ref pulses to skip between injection events (the skip count is not software controlled like in the VR auto PCM). AE fuel is delivered between normal injection events (async injection events).

I was going to ask this same question regarding single and double fire and which one is to be used....answered!VL400 wrote:The '808 being batch has one injector driver, it has two modes of injection...

I assume VR 082 also applies?

ok I guess that make a lot more sense now.

Re: Results after a "profesional tune"
two smaller injections at lower pulse widths would atomize better than one larger pulse in general, if it's then mistimed then it could pool and sit for a whole cycle, depending on valve temps.

Re: Results after a "profesional tune"
i kinda figured that. 2 pulses will have better chance getting in the cylinder as mist than one if the timing is out.

Re: Results after a "profesional tune"
So i changed the end of injection value. Didn't really notice a difference. But i am assuming alot of other things have to be adjusted other then that 1 value.
Does anyone know of any pre made sort of bins i can play around with? Driving the car, it just doesn't feel like its doing what its meant to. I don't want to damage the engine.... Or if someone can check the log i posted up. Does it look like its running some what a safe tune? I don't really have another 1k to throw at a dyno tune again.. But if i can get it to sort of idle/drive alright, il just have to deal with it until i can get some $$ together for a tune. That is, once i find a tuner that knows what they are doing
