handy to know! I dare say the pedal would move before the brakes start to do anything too!

so in other news, I've finally gotten the booster/master low enough so the pushrod is straight with the pedal, and its JUST low enough that the bonnet closes .... thankyou I'll take that! ... also added the front support off the front of the master to help keep it still!

also got my converter installed today, just waiting on some ARP converter bolts then that part of the equation is done! I also had a bent flexplate, and so instead of trying to straighten it I found this thicker than stock flexplate so should never have to think about that again!

so i'm just about on the home stretch with the brakes, just need to drill a few new holes then I'm good to go :)

the reason I need to drill some more holes is because I had too many :)

so I got rid of them and made it just what I need for the VT-VY booster mount.

quick trip to bunnings to get a new hole saw (mines SOOOO blunt) and then it's all sorted :)

then i'll have to get some new brake line and start working on making all new lines!

Well the brake booster/master cylinder conversion is now all done aside from some paint! pedal has ended up about 5mm lower than it was originally so pretty happy with that, and can always raise it with the rose joint adjustment if needs be, but if anything they are too high stock anyways so will be probably better now!

Also got some ARP converter bolts so I have been able to finish the connection of that to the flexplate and also got some new battery cable to go from the battery to the main fuse panel, and from the alternator to the battery, so things are getting a lot closer in the wiring department too.

I just need to get a T700 wiring plug, I have ordered one from efi connections, and that's the last part of the puzzle for the T700 to 424 ecu conversion.

I've also cut 150mm out of the original Bedford tailshaft and welded it back together, so this will at least allow me to move the van with the original diff in it until I source and convert a commodore diff at which point a new properly made shaft will be used :P and most of all I want to test my home built T700 has gears!!!
temp tailshaft.jpg
so currently working towards that stuff, B&M shifter, oil cooler and lines for the tranny and brake lines then I should be able to move it around under its own steam :punk:

Getting there ! It's nice when it all starts to come together and looks right, your welds are looking better aswell, see if it will lay some rubber and test out the tailshaft weld lol

HAH! it would want to, 4.6:1 diff in it with a V8, and it did a burnout with the straight 6 in it! :)

And people wonder why it cost thousands of dollars to do this kind of work. Great job keep up the progress notifications. I think we are all following this one.

4.6:1. Fark ! That would be doing 4,000 in 4th at a 100, should be able to spin in to top gear then lol

thought it was about time I posted an update! ....

there has been plenty going on with wiring but not a real lot to show for it, I got the transmission plug so that's mostly sorted, also working on some range switch fudging so the IAC offsets when going in and out of gear, and trans temperature sender to keep that all happy.

also sorted out all the tail light wiring and got some 21/21w narva bulbs (#47005 if anyone wants them) as the Bedford has indicator and reversing light in one so I can have bright reversing lights and keep the indicator relay happy with full load!

spent a bit of time cutting and modifying the original Bedford steering column mount to accept the commodore mount (I actually cut the dash part out of the commodore) and then I also braced the mount to the dash panel and then added some extra bits to support the bottom of the commodore dash panel!
P1120583.JPG
I actually got all the commodore glove box out of the donor car, so I am hoping I can mount all that into the passenger side foot well supported by this new framework.

also got the transmission oil cooler and hose/fittings so I got stuck into that today!

need to get some more oil to fill the fresh gearbox and new/empty converter then I am hoping I can have it running and select gears, I want to test the gearbox works

I've also purchased a few speedflow bits that should allow me to sort out the tappet cover breather fittings .... just waiting on a thread tap to arrive for that job!

also spent a bit of time modifying a commodore accelerator pedal to suit my vans pedal location and mounting to the firewall etc, its pretty much right and working however the cable is too long so I can't get 100% throttle, need to work something out there to shorten it slightly.

not much more to do now then i'll have to start working on the shifter and brakes!
